Resin is a mixture of aggregate stones and a resin binder, used as a surface for driveways and patios. It is porous, so it drains water effectively, and it is durable, long-lasting and low maintenance with a smooth, seamless finish.
It depends on the size of the project, the weather and how much ground preparation is needed. We aim to complete most projects within 2 to 4 days, and larger or more complex jobs may take longer. We will give you an accurate timeline at your consultation.
It depends on the job. Block paving materials usually cost less than resin, but on a very large area, or where the ground needs a lot of preparation, resin can work out cheaper. Resin also needs less upkeep over the years. The best way to compare is a free quote, where we can price both options for your driveway.
Prices are usually fairly close. Resin bound surfaces have a stronger bond that copes better with extreme temperatures and harsh weather, while tarmac is more likely to weather and crack over time, so resin can be the more cost-effective choice in the long run.
Often, yes. If your current tarmac or concrete is sound, we can lay resin as an overlay, which saves the time and cost of a brand new sub-base. If it is not suitable, we prepare a new base first.
We advise keeping cars off a newly laid resin driveway for at least 24 hours, and possibly longer depending on the weather.
