"Can you just put resin on top?" It is one of the most common questions we get, and the honest answer is: often, yes. But not always.
When an overlay works brilliantly
If your current tarmac or concrete is sound, an overlay skips the most expensive part of the job: digging out and building a new base. Our team can usually complete a resin overlay in a day, and you can drive on it 24 hours later.
When it is a false economy
- Large cracks that are still moving
- Sunken areas or dips that hold water
- Crumbling edges or a surface breaking into pieces
- Signs the base was never built properly in the first place
Resin is a beautiful finish. It is not a structural repair.
Send us a photo on WhatsApp or book a free site visit. No pressure, no obligation.
The middle ground
Sometimes most of the drive is sound and one section is not. In that case, we can repair or rebuild the weak area first and then overlay the whole thing, so you get a seamless finish without paying for a full rebuild.
How we decide
On a free site visit we look at the existing surface, check for movement and talk you through the options honestly. If an overlay will last, we will say so. If it will not, we will tell you why. Read more about resin driveways or see a three-step resin install.
